Hey My Lovely Readers,

How are you doing???? Hope your life is going cool!!! And if not, then don’t worry “good days are coming ahead.

Today I am super duper excited to share with you all this amazing thing called Dreamcatcher. Have you ever heard of it??????  Well, I am pretty sure almost all of you would have. I didn’t actually know much about this until a few months back when I happened to come across a pin on Pinterest. (Does anyone here use Pinterest?? If yes, then do follow me http://www.pinterest.com/dilsedreamer Let’s explore it.) Anyways coming back to my article…  That’s when my craze for dreamcatcher started. Since then I too wanted one of my own. Many people say that it should always be a gifted one.

SO, I GIFTED THIS TO THE VERY SPECIAL PERSON. Wanna know who it is????

Sabar rakho…!!! You will get to know it by the end of this arttcle.

What is  A Dreamcatcher?

A Dreamcatcher is a handmade object based on a hoop with a woven web of sinew strands in it that has feathers, beads, and crystals attached. It is hung in the tipi or lodge…. It is believed that the air is filled with dreams. And these dreams are said to be full of meanings either good or bad.

Does Dream Catcher actually work?

There are different versions of the dream catcher legend and how it works. Some say that good dreams pass through the hole in the center of the web while bad dreams are caught in the web. The good dreams will flow down the feathers to the person while the bad dreams dissolve in the daylight.

Traditionally they are often hung over cradles as protection.

Things you require:

  • Embroidery Hoop (inner hoop)  (Instead of the hoop, I had used waste pressure cooker’s rubber gasket) Basically, you can use anything that is round in shape.
  • Crochet thread / Colorful yarns
  • Scissor
  • Feather ( I have used peacock feather, you can use any kind of feather you wish)
  • Beads
  • Large eye blunt Needle
  • Thread

How to make:

  • Wrap the desired colored yarn around the entire hoop. You can either go with the same color throughout the hoop or you can randomly keep on changing.  Choose the colors you desire.

  • Wrap until it is completely covered.
  • Take a needle and insert the thread in its hole. Start the loops from whenever you want by inserting it in between the yarns. When you get to the end secure it. Insert beads in between.
  • See the illustration below:

  • After completing the above patterns, now the next thing to do is attaching feathers to this dream catcher to make fringe.
  • String beads on the fringe, and attach feathers with glue or by tying them on. I tied feather in the center also to make it look more good.
  • Tie a yarn loop at the top of the DreamCatcher. And you Dreamcatcher is ready to be hung on the wall, over the bed, or anywhere you like.

You can even gift this to your loved ones on their special days – Birthday, anniversary, or YOURSELF.

And yes, I gifted this to myself…
